Jackson-327 Reopens Following Excavation Project
Chillicothe (Thursday, May 21, 2015) – Major operations for an excavation and rock removal project have been completed on state Route 327 in Jackson County, and the route is now open to traffic.
Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation have been working to remove rock and construct benches along the east hillside of the route between Township Road 207 (Woodrow Hale Road) and T.R. 804 (Ray Cemetery Road), approximately two miles south of the Jackson-Vinton County line
DGM, Inc. was awarded a contract for approximately $648,000 to recut and repair the slide area, and construction began in late March. While the route is now open to traffic, crews have some minor finishing work to complete; however, there should be little to no impact on motorists, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers as needed.
