Jackson-327 Slip Forcing Lane Restrictions, Possible Closure
Crews working to clear route and debris
Chillicothe (Wednesday, March 10, 2010) – A rock slide along state Route 327 in northern Jackson County is forcing lane restrictions and delays today, and motorists are being advised to seek alternate routes.
Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation Jackson County Highway Maintenance Facility are working to clear the area near the route’s 19.50-mile marker, just south of Township Road 207 (Woodrow Hale Road). In addition, ODOT District 9’s geo-technical engineering department is assessing the area to determine if further action to stabilize the area will be required.
Currently, traffic continues to be maintained; however, closure of the route may be necessary. It is advised that motorists seek alternate routes and detour via state Route 93 at Wellston to S.R. 683 to U.S. 50 and S.R. 327 in Vinton County.
