Jackson-93 Remains Closed Due To Gas Main Break
Chillicothe (Monday, June 21, 2010) – State Route 93 in Jackson County remains closed this afternoon due to a break in a gas line located near Coalton.
The route has been closed since last Monday, June 14, in order for crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Jackson County Highway Maintenance Facility to replace a deteriorated culvert located at the 21.2-mile marker at Coalton.
Although construction efforts to replace the pipe have been completed, contractors installing guardrail in the project zone have hit a gas line, forcing the closure to be extended through the remainder of today, June 21.
While crews from the local utility company are working to restore the line, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 788 and S.R. 93.
