Culvert Projects Slated For Jackson-279
Chillicothe - Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation Jackson County Highway Maintenance Facility are preparing for a series of culvert replacement projects on state Route 279 that will require daytime closures next week.
According to Transportation Administrator Dave Walton, the culvert replacements are in preparation for an upcoming resurfacing project, and crews will be replacing deteriorated pipes situated between the 3.00-mile marker near County Road 17 (Monroe Hollow Road) and the 7.00-mile marker at County Road 11 (Four Mile Road), west of Oak Hill.
Beginning Tuesday, June 2, and continuing throughout the week, crews will be working at various locations during daytime hours. While each project is under way, the route will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with it being open to evening and overnight travel.
Facilitation of each culvert replacement will be contingent upon the weather, and during periods of closure, motorists will be detoured by way of S.R. 139, S.R. 32, U.S. 35 and S.R. 93.
