Keystone Furnace Reconstruction Advancing
Next Segment Of Road To Be Closed Temporarily
Chillicothe (Tuesday, August 04, 2015) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 will extend the work limits of a temporary closure on County Road 9 (Keystone Furnace Road) as the U.S. Route 35/McCarty Lane grade separation project is nearing its final stages of construction.
Keystone Furnace Road was closed last week between its junction with U.S. 35 and C.R. 79 (Clary Road) for reconstruction of this leg of the road. Now, Phase 5 of the project calls for the closure of Keystone Furnace to be extended through its intersection with and just east of Clary Road for the remainder of reconstruction.
The closure will go into effect Saturday, August 8, and it is anticipated to be in effect through early to mid-September. While Keystone Furnace is closed, motorists will be detoured via T.R. 257 (Buckley Road), T.R. 259 (Cutlip Road), S.R. 32, U.S. 35 and S.R. 327.
Motorists are advised to use additional caution in the construction zone and through the detours established for the maintenance of traffic plan.
