Lane Restrictions To Be Imparted On Brown-52
Chillicothe - As winter weather starts to break, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will begin operations early next month for a slip repair project on U.S. Route 52 in Brown County.
According to ODOT District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart, crews from the Alan Stone Company will be repairing a slide at the route’s 8.65-mile marker. The project site is located approximately one mile east of County Road 307 (Old A & P Road), between Higginsport and Ripley.
“With the 2009 construction season getting started in the coming weeks, it is important to remind motorists of the need for additional safety when they are traveling in work zones,” said Brushart.
“While construction projects do create an impact to motorists, they are necessary to maintain the integrity of our routes and for the safety of the traveling public. As such, we appreciate the patience of all motorists while construction is under way.”
Weather permitting, the project is scheduled to begin Monday, March 2. Throughout construction, the route will be reduced to one, 12-foot lane, and traffic will be maintained by temporary traffic signals.
Alan Stone of Cutler, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $2.87 million in December, and the project is scheduled to be completed by August 31.
