Lane Restrictions To Be Imparted On Lawrence-7
Contractors Ready To Resume Lawrence-52 Project
Chillicothe - With spring just around the corner and the 2009 construction season getting started, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will begin operations early next week for a slip repair project on state Route 7 in Lawrence County.
According to ODOT District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart, crews from Stable Construction will be repairing a slide along the eastbound lane at the route’s 1.60-mile marker. The project site is located just south (west) of the Chesapeake corporation limit.
“With the 2009 construction season getting started, it is important to remind motorists of the need for additional safety when they are traveling in work zones,” said Brushart.
“While construction projects do create an impact to motorists, they are necessary to maintain the integrity of our routes and for the safety of the traveling public. As such, we appreciate the patience of all motorists during any construction or maintenance project.”
On Monday, March 16, Ohio-7 route will be reduced to one lane in the eastbound direction during daytime, working hours, and traffic will be maintained by arrowboards.
In addition to the slip repair, construction will also resume on U.S. Route 52 on Monday for a resurfacing and bridge rehabilitation project between state Route 650 at Hanging Rock and the eastern corporation limit of Coal Grove.
Crews from Shelly and Sands will return to the work zone next week, reducing the route to one, 11.5-foot lane in each direction to complete final bridge repairs and begin paving. A 45-mile-per-hour speed limit will also be imposed in the construction zone.
While construction on U.S. 52 is scheduled to be completed by August 31, the slip repair project on S.R. 7 is anticipated to wrap up by May 31.
