Lawrence-650 Reopens; S.R. 7 Still Closed
Chillicothe (Thursday, July 22, 2010) – State Route 650 in Lawrence County is now open to traffic following this week’s rash of severe storms.
The route has been reopened near C.R. 43 (Kelley’s Mill Road) and C.R. 27 (Little Pine Creek Road), where it was closed yesterday, July 21, due to flash flooding.
However, S.R. 7 remains closed to westbound traffic between S.R. 527 at Chesapeake and U.S. 52 at the 6th Street/Nick Rahall Bridge following a landslide that occurred near the route’s 1.0-mile marker and County Road 124 (Tallow Ridge Road).
This closure is in effect until further notice, and motorists are being through the village of Chesapeake via Third Avenue and C.R. 1(old U.S. 52) to C.R. 144 (Charley Creek Road) and U.S. 52.
