Light Snow Moves In, District 9 Crews Begin Patrols
Chillicothe (Friday, February 10, 2012 - 3:45 p.m.) – Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 crews will be on the roads tonight as a winter storm makes its way into the area.
Although only light snow is falling and routes are clear and wet, crews have begun patrolling routes, treating as needed, in preparation for snow accumulation and possible ice.
As motorists begin the evening commute, they are reminded of the need for additional caution. Roadways that are clear and wet are likely to be slick and ice may form quickly and without warning as temperatures drop during the evening and overnight hours.
Motorists are also reminded to give plow truck drivers room to work. The large, heavy equipment makes it difficult for operators to see other vehicles, so ODOT reminds motorists to keep their distance and watch for sudden stops and turns.
