Lucasville Masons Pick Up Litter For AAH Program
Chillicothe (Wednesday, July 25, 2012) – The Lucasville Masonic Lodge No. 465 of Scioto County are being recognized for their efforts to help beautify Ohio and clean up one of the area’s most-heavily traveled routes.
In their first outing this year, Jhan Aeh, Neal Allen, Nelson Bellar, Dwayne Hood, Robert Temple Jr., Jason Throckmorton and Tom Williams collected 10 bags of litter along U.S. Route 23 on June 23.
“The participation of organizations like the Lucasville Masons in the Adopt-A-Highway program does much to assist our maintenance crews to maintain a clean highway system, and we appreciate their efforts,” said Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 Deputy Director Vaughn Wilson.
Members of Adopt-A-Highway since 1994, the Lucasville Masonic Lodge was awarded the Gold Star designation in the spring of 2005 for its long-standing participation in the program.
For those groups participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program, ODOT will provide volunteers with trash bags and safety vests at no cost, and the department will post a sign inscribed with the group's name within the adopted section of highway.
Any group interested in becoming part of the Adopt-A-Highway program in Scioto County should contact ODOT’s highway maintenance facility by calling (740) 259-2071.
