Lucasville Masons Participate In Litter Pick Up Program
Chillicothe -- The Lucasville Masons have pitched in once again to assist the Ohio Department of Transportation with litter pick up in Scioto County as part of the department’s Adopt-A-Highway program.
“We wish to commend the Lucasville Masons on their commitment to the Adopt-A-Highway program and their efforts to help our county crews maintain a clean highway system and promote roadway beautification,” said ODOT District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart.
In their fourth outing this year, Jhan Aeh, Kimmy Coleman, Paul Kennedy, Curt Thacker and David Young of Masonic Lodge No. 465 collected 14 bags of litter along a two-mile section of U.S. Route 23 on October 25.
Members of the Adopt-A-Highway program since 1994, the Lucasville Masonic Lodge was awarded the Gold Star designation in the spring of 2005 for its longstanding participation in the program.
For those groups participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program, ODOT will provide volunteers with trash bags and safety vests at no cost, and the department will post a sign inscribed with the group's name within the adopted section of highway.
Any group interested in becoming part of the Adopt-A-Highway program in Scioto County should contact ODOT's highway maintenance facility by calling (740) 259-2071.
