Next Series Of Culvert Replacements Scheduled
Chillicothe - A project to replace a series of culverts on state Route 770 will continue tomorrow, March 17, as crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Adams County Highway Maintenance Facility will be replacing two pipes near May Hill.
Crews will close the route between the 9.16 and 9.21-mile markers, just south of Township Road 113A (Cuckoo Road), to replace two deteriorated culverts as part of the ongoing series of work for an upcoming resurfacing project.
“Although we had originally planned to keep the route open and maintain traffic when replacing these culverts, the space needed for crews and equipment, along with the pavement width, does not provide safe passage for motorists at some locations,” said Bob Osman, transportation administrator of the Adams County facility.
Weather permitting, the closure will be in effect from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and while the route is closed, traffic will be detoured via state routes 73, 41, 32 and 247.
