Nipgen Road Bridge Replacement Wrapping Up
Route Reopening Tomorrow
Chillicothe - A bridge replacement project on County Road 34 (Nipgen Road) in Pike County is nearing completion, and the route is scheduled to reopen to traffic tomorrow.
Working in conjunction with the Pike County Engineer’s Office, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 closed Nipgen Road in early September to replace a structure situated over Hawe Fork Creek and located south of the Pike-Ross County line in Pebble Township.
Currently, crews are scheduled to complete construction and reopen the route to traffic on Friday, October 31.
“This was one of many such projects we conducted on the local system within the district’s eight-county region, and we appreciate the patience of motorists and residents throughout the duration of the project,” said ODOT District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart.
The Parker Corporation of Tuppers Plains, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $342,838 to replace the structure.
