ODOT & KYTC District 9s
Kick Off 2015 Work Zone Safety Awareness Week
As spring begins, so does the busy construction and maintenance seasons for the transportation departments from both Ohio and Kentucky. And as crews take to the roadways with projects to improve our system of highways and bridges, it’s also the start of National Work Zone Awareness Week across the country.
To kick off the annual appeal for motorists to protect themselves, highway workers and contractors, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and Ohio Department of Transportation are teaming up for a news conference next week in Portsmouth to remind everyone of the need for additional caution in work zones.
Please join ODOT - District 9 Deputy Director Vaughn Wilson and KYTC – District 9 Chief Engineer Bart Bryant as they discuss the need for reduced speed and limited distractions when driving in work zones, as well as the projects that will be affecting travelers throughout northeast Kentucky and south-central Ohio.
