Crews Continue Clearing Routes
Motorists Advised of Drifting Snow and Possible Ice
Chillicothe – Ohio Department of Transportation crews in District 9 will continue working to clear the state highway system this evening; however, motorists are advised of blowing and drifting snow, ice and slick conditions.
Currently, crews are reporting pavement conditions on primary routes to be mostly clear; however, some routes are partly snow covered due to blowing and drifting snow, as well as some light precipitation that continues to fall. In addition, ice may be present or likely to form quickly due to temperatures that are well below freezing.
Although crews will continue to treat and clear the roadways as needed, motorists are advised to continue exercising extreme caution and to allow additional travel time. They are also reminded that routes that are clear and wet may be slick or become icy in an instant. Additional travel information, driver safety tips and statewide road conditions can be found on ODOT’s Buckeye Traffic web site at www.buckeyetraffic.org.
ODOT District 9 includes Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties.
