ODOT District 9 Bids Farewell To Green
Chillicothe - The Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 has said farewell to another longtime member of its family as Tony Green retired after more than 25 years of service.
Green began his career with ODOT in 1982, working as an administrative assistant in the district’s bridge, roadway and construction departments. For approximately 10 years, he worked as a bridge worker 2, and in recent years, he has served the department as a transportation manager 3, working as a project supervisor in the district's construction department.
“With his years of service and experience, Tony has served the residents and motorists throughout our area well, and he will be missed by the construction department,” said ODOT District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart.
“I’ve truly enjoyed the people and the projects I’ve worked with over the years,” said Green. “There is a feeling of accomplishment when everyone works together to better our highway system and make a positive difference in the lives we affect.”
A resident of the McDermott area in Scioto County, Green is a graduate of Portsmouth West High School and Shawnee State University. In addition to receiving bachelor’s and associate’s degrees from Shawnee, Green received an associate’s degree from the Air Force University while serving six years in the U.S. Air Force.
During retirement, the avid outdoorsman will spend his time hunting, traveling, hiking and fishing. He will also spend time doing home projects and enjoying life with his family that includes his wife, Laura, and their son, Robert, and their many friends.
