ODOT District 9 Kicks Off Annual Winter Inspections
Chillicothe (October 26, 2010) – Although it is only October, ODOT is already “Working for Winter” in Jackson County!
This week and next, ODOT District 9 maintenance crews will be “working for winter” inspecting, checking and fine tuning equipment in each of the district's eight counties – to ensure Ohio’s economic engine keeps running this winter so you get to work, goods get to market on-time and vital services are performed all across the state.
In Jackson County, this year's Operational Readiness Event will be held Thursday, October 28, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the highway maintenance facility on Rice Road. While mechanics will be inspecting equipment at the ODOT garage located just off S.R. 32, drivers will be attending class at the Fire Department Community Center in Coalton at the intersection of S.R. 93 and Stewart Road.
Other events will be held in Pike County on October 29; Adams County on November 1; Brown County on November 3; Highland County on November 4; Lawrence County on November 5; Ross County on November 8; and Scioto County on November 9.
Media attending the Operational Readiness events will have the opportunity to photograph and meet mechanics who will be inspecting the equipment. ODOT Representatives will be on hand to discuss the following:
