ODOT Schedules Public Forum For Ironton-Russell Bridge Project
Chillicothe (January 24, 2011) -- The Ohio Department of Transportation will host a public meeting next week to review the upcoming Ironton-Russell Bridge replacement project and its journalization to the state highway system in Lawrence County.
The project to replace the Ironton-Russell Bridge, which is scheduled to sell in October of this year, calls for the relocation of the existing structure to a new alignment between Ironton, Ohio, and Russell, Kentucky. The new bridge will be situated between Second Street in downtown Ironton and U.S. Route 23 near its intersection with Kentucky 244 (Bellefonte Street) in Russell.
The purpose of the meeting is to address the (ODOT) Director’s Journal Entry for the alignment changes in Ironton and the addition of the existing state Route 93 in Lawrence County. Representatives from ODOT will be on hand to discuss these changes and answer questions from the general public.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, February 1, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lawrence County ODOT Highway Maintenance Facility, 450 Commerce Drive, in Ironton. Public comment forms will be available, and written or oral comments may be submitted at the meeting; written comments may also be submitted through February 15 by mail to:
