Chillicothe (Monday, May 3, 2010 – 3:15 p.m.) – While state Route 335 in Scioto County has been fully reopened to traffic, state Route 522 is now closed.
The route is closed just north of Wheelersburg in Scioto County, and it is also closed at its junction with state Route 650 in Lawrence County.
Other routes in Lawrence County that remain closed this afternoon include:
• State Route 141, at Aid and between Arabia and Waterloo;
• State Route 217, from east of Linnville to west of S.R. 378;
• State Route 243, east of C.R. 36;
• State Route 650 at Little Pine Creek Road; and
• State Route 775, between C.R. 40 and C.R. 171.
In Pike County, S.R. 124 remains closed at Idaho, between S.R. 32 and S.R. 772; this closure is anticipated to be in effect through the evening and overnight hours. And S.R. 505 in Brown County is closed until further notice due to a slip.
Motorists are reminded that crossing any route which has been closed is strictly prohibited, and motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution when crossing any route which remains open but where standing water may be present.
Throughout the week. maintenance crews in all District 9 counties will continue working to clear roadways, ditches and culverts of debris left from the weekend’s storms from roadways. And crews in southern Scioto and Lawrence counties will also be patrolling routes for possible closures that may develop as water levels at the Ohio River rise.
