Operations Wrapping Up; Crews Continue Patrols
Chillicothe (Tuesday, January 6, 2015) – With a winter storm moving out of the area, Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 crews are wrapping up their cleanup efforts on the state highway system this afternoon.
Conditions having improved significantly since the overnight, and routes throughout the District 9 area are clear and either wet or mostly dry. However, maintenance crews will remain on duty this evening to plow back shoulders as needed and monitor routes for blowing and drifting snow, as well as freezebacks.
Although roadways are clear, they may be slick, and ice could form over wet pavement. As such, motorists are reminded to continue using additional cuation, reducing their speed, allowing additional travel time and maintaining a safe following distance behind other drivers.
