Overnight Lane Restrictions On Bypass Scheduled
Chillicothe - The Chillicothe Bypass will be subject to lane restrictions during the evening and overnight hours throughout the week for a maintenance project by the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Ross County Highway Maintenance Facility.
Beginning tonight, May 18, and continuing through Friday, May 22, crews will be performing slot paving operations between the splits of the U.S. Route 35/23 bypass from approximately 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.
Although traffic will be maintained in at least one lane in each direction at all times, it is planned that the route will be reduced to one lane in the south/eastbound direction (U.S. 35 East/U.S. 23 South) during the first two nights of the project, with operations moving to the north/westbound lanes (U.S. 35 West/U.S. 23 North) for the second two nights of the project.
All work should be completed by 6 a.m. Friday; however, completion of the project will be contingent upon the weather. Motorists are reminded to exercise additional caution when traveling through the work zones.
