Pair Of Culvert Replacement Projects Planned For S.R. 251
Single-day closures on tap next week
Chillicothe (Wednesday, August 31, 2016) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility will undertake a pair of culvert replacement projects on state Route 251 next week, requiring closure of the route on two separate days.
On Tuesday, September 6, S.R. 251 will be closed at the 2.9-mile marker, where crews will be replacing a deteriorated culvert between S.R. 123 and County Road 312 (Kernan Road). Then, on Thursday, September 8, the route will be closed again for a culvert replacement project at the 3.3-mile marker, which is just south of Kernan Road.
The closures will be in effect from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of S.R. 123 and U.S. 68.

In a separate project, S.R. 32 East will be reduced to one lane at the Brown-Clermont County on Thursday, September 1, for core drilling. The drilling is being done in advance of an upcoming emergency culvert replacement project that is likely to begin next week.
While eastbound traffic will be restricted to one lane, westbound S.R. 32 should not be affected and remain open to two lanes of traffic.
