Pair Of County Road Bridge Replacements Projects On Tap
Closures Going Into Effect In Early August On Two Pike County Roads
Chillicothe B Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 Deputy Director James A. Brushart has announced plans for a pair of bridge replacement projects to get started early next month in Pike County.
According to Brushart, crews from the Righter Company are tentatively scheduled to close County Road 25 (Coldicott Hill Road) and County Road 27 (Laurel Ridge Road) on Monday, August 3, to begin construction.
AThroughout the course of a construction season, we will have several projects sponsored by local governments,@ said Brushart. ASuch is the case with both of these bridge replacements in which we are working with the Pike County Engineer’s Office and Denny Salisbury to administer preservation projects for the county’s transportation system.”
The bridge to be replaced on Coldicott Hill Road is located at the 1.59-mile marker, just south of its intersection with C.R. 22 (Camp Creek Road) and approximately 1.6 miles north of the Scioto County line. The Laurel Ridge Road structure is located at the 5.44-mile marker, just south of S.R. 32 and approximately 5.5 miles north of S.R. 772.
While Coldicott Hill Road is closed, motorists will be detoured locally, and while Laurel Ridge Road is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 32 and S.R. 772.
The Righter Company was awarded two separate contracts in the amount of approximately $482,728 and $424,517 to replace the structures on C.R. 25 and C.R. 27, respectively, and the scheduled completion date for all work on both projects is October 31, 2009.
