Paving Set To Begin In New Boston
Resurfacing project will start in June
Chillicothe (Thursday, May 21, 2015) – Construction will get under way in the village of New Boston next month, as contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation resurface the eastbound lanes of U.S. Route 52.
Crews from Allard Excavation will be milling and filling U.S. 52 East (Rhodes Avenue) from near Manning Street to just east of Clayport Street, near the entrance to the Village Mall. The project also includes pavement repairs, curb ramp improvements, striping and signing.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, June 8, and throughout the project, the eastbound U.S. 52 will be reduced to one, 12-foot lane. In addition, no parking restrictions will be in place within the construction zone. Motorists are advised to expect periods of delay, and they are also reminded of the need for additional caution in the work zone.
Allard Excavation LLC of South Webster, Ohio, was awarded a contract for approximately $941,904, and the project is anticipated to be completed in early fall.
