Paving Gets Under Way On S.R. 125
Chillicothe (Tuesday, April 26, 2011) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 have begun site preparations for an 11-mile, two-lane resurfacing project on state Route 125 in Scioto County.
Preliminary operations got under way this week with sign installation, milling and the removal of raised pavement markers. Following this initial phase of work, crews from the Shelly Company will begin resurfacing the route, where the construction zone extends from the junction with U.S. 52 to the Adams County line.
Paving operations are anticipated to begin the week of May 2, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers.
The Shelly Company, of Thornville, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of $1.8 million to complete the project, and the scheduled completion date is July 31, 2011.
