Pike-124 Resurfacing Project Set To Begin
Chillicothe (Friday, August 7, 2015) – As preliminary operations get under way, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 will soon start a paving project in Pike County.
Crews from Shelly and Sands, Inc. will be resurfacing approximately seven miles of state Route 124, from the Highland County line to County Road 6 (Lapperell Road), as well as performing minor bridge repairs.
Motorists will encounter temporary lane restrictions as traffic will be reduced to one lane and maintained by flaggers when crews are at work during daytime, business hours. ODOT reminds motorists of the need for additional caution when traveling through this and other work zones.
Shelly and Sands, of Thornville, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $1.125 million to resurface the route, and all work is anticipated to be completed by late fall.
