Pike-220/Schuster Road Project Meeting To Be Held
ODOT Schedules Open House
Chillicothe (January 24, 2011) -- The Ohio Department of Transportation will host a public meeting next month to review the upcoming state Route 220 relocation project and its journalization to the state highway system in Pike County.
The project to relocate a section of state Route 220, from its intersection with County Road 78 (Zahn’s Corner Road) to S.R. 32 by way of C.R. 81 (Schuster Road) calls for upgrading Schuster Road to the state highway system, as well as abandoning the existing section of S.R. 220 between Zahn’s Corner Road and S.R. 32 and elimating the thru or crossover access to C.R. 66 (Germany Road).
The purpose of the meeting is to address the (ODOT) Director’s Journal Entry for relocating S.R. 220 and transferring the abandoned portion of the existing route to the Pike County Commissioners’ highway system. Representatives from ODOT will be on hand to discuss these changes and answer questions from the general public.
The meeting will be held Monday, February 7, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Pike County ODOT Highway Maintenance Facility, 5591 Wakefield Mound Road, just south of Piketon. Public comment forms will be available, and written or oral comments may be submitted at the meeting; written comments may also be submitted through February 22 by mail to:
