Slip Project Set To Begin On Pike-32
Lane Restrictions In Effect Next Week
Chillicothe (Wednesday, July 25, 2012) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will impart restrictions on state Route 32 in Pike County next week for an emergency slip repair project.
On Wednesday, August 1, crews from DGM, Incorporated will reduce S.R. 32 to one lane in the westbound direction at the route’s 20.14-mile marker. The project site is located near County Road 66 (Germany Road) and the CSX Railroad underpass, approximately 1.5 miles east of the S.R. 220 (formerly C.R. 81/Schuster Road) intersection.
Throughout construction, westbound traffic will be maintained in one lane. Eastbound traffic at this location should not be affected during most construction; however, motorists in both directions will need to exercise additional caution in the construction zone.
DGM, Inc. of Beaver, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $134,793 to repair the slip, and although major construction should be completed by late August, all associated work is anticipated to be completed by late September.
