Preservation Project Slated To Begin On Series Of Bridges
Restrictions Scheduled For Brown-32, Highland-753
Chillicothe (Tuesday, April 26, 2016) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are scheduled to begin a preservation project on a series of bridges in Brown and Highland counties.
Crews from the John R. Jurgensen Company will be paving decks and applying a waterproofing asphalt concrete surface course to bridges on state Route 32 in Brown County and S.R. 753 in Highland County. The project also includes installing new guardrail.
On S.R. 32, crews will be working between County Road 100 (Klein Road) and Township Road 162 (Bean Road), and traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction. S.R. 753 will be reduced to one lane between T.R. 260 (Spargur Lane) and T.R. 305 (Sams Road), and traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work during daytime, business hours.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, May 2, and motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution in the work zones.
The Jurgensen Company was awarded a contract for approximately $877,295 to pave the bridges, and all work is scheduled to be completed in mid-summer.
