ODOT Seeking Comment For Proposed Projects
Chillicothe (Friday, April 20, 2012) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the Environmental Office is seeking public input on the following proposed projects.
Highland County – HIG-41-8.67 – The proposed project is a scour correction and repair of a damaged wing wall on a structure located over Holliday Run in Madison Township. Steel I-beams will be placed in the scour hole against the wing wall, and concrete will be poured in the scour hole to reinforce the wing wall. No new right of way will be needed for the project, and no homes or businesses will be removed by the project. All work will be completed by ODOT county forces.
Scioto County – SCI-139-5.10 (PID: 87249) – The proposed project is the reconstruction of S.R. 139 at Maple Benner Road. Some small trees and bushes will be removed as part of the project; however none of the trees have habitat for the federally endangered Indiana Bat, and no streams or rivers will be affected. The project will need approximately 0.164 acres of temporary right of way and 0.854 acres of permanent right of way. Approximately 0.067 acres of the temporary right of way is located in a recreational area, but this will not alter the use of the recreational area. No homes, businesses or structures will be removed by the project.
Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect of the projects on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by May 4, 2012, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
