Public Meeting On Tap For Ironton-Russell Bridge Project
Chillicothe (Tuesday, February 01, 2011) – A public meeting is on tap today to address the upcoming Ironton-Russell Bridge replacement project and the journalization of state Route 93 in Lawrence County.
Representatives from the Ohio Department of Transportation will be at ODOT’s Lawrence County highway facility later today, February 1, to discuss the alignment changes and the extension of the existing Ohio-93 into downtown Ironton.
The project to replace the Ironton-Russell Bridge, which is scheduled to sell in October of this year, calls for the relocation of the existing structure to a new alignment between Ironton, Ohio, and Russell, Kentucky. The new bridge will be situated between Second Street in downtown Ironton and U.S. Route 23 near its intersection with Kentucky 244 (Bellefonte Street) in Russell.
The meeting, which will be an open house format, will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lawrence County ODOT Highway Maintenance Facility located at 450 Commerce Drive in Ironton. Public comment forms will be available, and written or oral comments may be submitted at the meeting; written comments may also be submitted through February 15 by mail to:
