REVISED SCHEDULED: Brown-62 Culvert Replacements
Route Subject To Daytime-Only Closure
Chillicothe (Thursday, June 6, 2013) – With a series of culvert replacement projects scheduled next week on U.S. Route 62, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County garage have revised their maintenance plan in an effort to reduce the impact to traffic.
Although U.S. 62 was to be closed around the clock throughout the week, it will now be closed during daytime, business hours only while crews replace three culverts between Russellville and Red Oak. Beginning Monday, June 10, and continuing through Thursday, June 13, U.S. 62 will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, with the route open to evening and overnight travel.
The project sites are located at the 12.40, 13.05 and 14.74-mile markers, which are between the route’s junction with state Route 353 at Red Oak and County Road 15 (George Miller Road), just south of Russellville. During periods of closure, motorists will be detoured via state Route 125 at Russellville and U.S. 68 at Georgetown.
All work is anticipated to be completed by the close of the business day Thursday, June 13; however, completion of each project on any day of the week will be contingent upon the weather.
