Railroad Crossing Project On Tap Next Week
Eastern Avenue To Be Closed
Chillicothe (Wednesday, March 19, 2014) – A railroad crossing project by the CSX Railroad will close Eastern Avenue at U.S. Route 35 near Chillicothe next week.
On Monday, March 24, contractors for CSX will be repairing the rail line where it crosses Eastern Avenue between the U.S. 23 interchange and the U.S. 35 on/off ramps, just outside the Chillicothe corporation limit. The closure is scheduled to go into effect Monday morning and continue until approximately 5 p.m. Friday, March 28.
Motorists traveling U.S. 23 North to U.S.35/50 East or Eastern Avenue will be detoured via the S.R. 159/Bridge Street Exit and then back to U.S. 35 East/U.S. 23 South at the interchange. Motorists traveling from U.S. 50 West or in downtown Chillicothe will also be detoured via Bridge Street and U.S. 35 East.
