Resurfacing, Bridge Repair Set To Begin On Ross-50
Chillicothe (Monday, August 8, 2016) – A resurfacing and bridge repair project will get under way on U.S. Route 50 in Ross County as contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 begin construction next week.
Crews from Shelly & Sands, Incorporated will be paving U.S. 50 from the U.S. 35 interchange, east of Chillicothe, to the Vinton County line. Included in the 9.5-mile resurfacing project will be the repair of bridges located at the U.S. 35 underpass, near Township Road (Scottland Road), and County Road 221 (Sugar Run Road) and T.R. 219 (Dixon Mill Road).
Construction is scheduled to begin the week of August 15, and while crews are at work, traffic will be reduced to one lane and maintained by flaggers.
Shelly & Sands, Inc. was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $1.17 million to pave U.S. 50, and all work is anticipated to be completed in mid-fall.
