Resurfacing, Culvert Replacement Scheduled For Ross-23
Restrictions In Effect At Trego Creek
Chillicothe (Thursday, April 21, 2016) – With the 2016 construction season getting under way, a resurfacing and culvert replacement is slated to begin on U.S. Route 23 in Ross County.
Crews from the Shelly Company have begun preliminary operations on U.S. 23, where they will be paving the route between County Road 600 (Massieville Road) and the S.R. 104 interchange this summer. The project also includes pavement repairs and minor structure repair to the bridges, as well as a culvert replacement between Township Road 183 (Trego Creek Road) and T.R. 1173 (Maple Lane).
Construction will begin Monday, April 25, with the culvert replacement just north of Trego Creek Road, and during the initial phase of the project, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction between Trego Creek and Maple Lane. Paving operations are not anticipated to begin until early June; at which time, the remainder of the construction zone will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
The Shelly Company was awarded a contract for approximately $1.35 million to resurface U.S. 23, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early fall.
