Resurfacing Project Set To Begin On Blain Highway

Chillicothe - Lane restrictions are going into effect on County Road 167 in Ross County as contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation begin a two-lane resurfacing project.

According to ODOT District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart, crews from Shelly and Sands Incorporated will be resurfacing C.R. 167 (Blain Highway) between its junction with U.S. Route 23, south of Chillicothe, to its junction with U.S. Route 50, west of the city.

“We are pleased to be partnering with the Ross County Engineer’s Office on this preservation project for the county and this highly traveled roadway,” said Brushart.

Construction for the 12.38-mile project will begin this week, and throughout the project, two-way traffic will be maintained in one lane with the aid of flaggers.

Shelly and Sands, of Zanesville, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of $724,401 in March, and the scheduled completion date for all work is August 31, 2008.
