Resurfacing Project Set To Begin On Ross/Jackson-35
Chillicothe - A minor rehabilitation project on U.S. Route 35 in Ross and Jackson counties will get under way as contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 are preparing to impart lane restrictions next week.
On Monday, May 4, crews from Shelly and Sands Incorporated are tentatively scheduled to begin resurfacing U.S. Route 35, where the route will be reduced to one lane in each direction between County Road 207 (Watson-Vigo Road) at Richmond Dale in Ross County and Township Road 216 (Springer Road) in Jackson County.
Shelly and Sands, of Zanesville, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $2.77 million to resurface U.S. 35, and throughout construction traffic will be maintained in at least one lane in each direction. A 50-mile-per-hour speed limit will also be in effect.
The completion date for the project is August 31, 2009.
