Resurfacing Project Slated For Ross-23
Chillicothe - As this year’s construction season steps up the pace, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 have begun operations for a minor rehabilitation project on U.S. Route 23 in Ross County.
“The 2009 construction season is already under way throughout the state, and this is one of many important projects we have on tap in Ross County this year,” said ODOT District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart. “Rehabilitation projects such as this are vital to the preservation of our infrastructure, and they are necessary for the safety of the traveling public, so appreciate motorists’ patience as they travel this busy route.”
Crews from Complete General Construction have begun preliminary operations to resurface the route and repair bridges between the route’s 12.82-mile marker near the U.S. 35 bypass junction and the 16.26-mile marker, just south of the state Route 159/Kingston exit. Throughout construction traffic will be maintained in at least one lane in each direction.
Complete General, of Columbus, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $3.35 million to resurface the route, and the completion date for the project is September 30, 2009.
