Resurfacing Set To Begin On Adams-136
Chillicothe - Although the 2008 construction season is winding down, a resurfacing project is set to begin in Adams County, with contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation scheduled to begin paving a 3.5-mile section of state Route 136 early next week.
“Resurfacing projects are necessary to preserve the integrity of a given route, as well as for the safety of the traveling public, so we appreciate motorists’ patience while construction is under way and when crews are at work,” said ODOT District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart.
The resurfacing project extends from the route’s junction with state Route 41 near Bentonville to state Route 125 at Panhandle and includes making necessary repairs to the route, overlaying the pavement with asphalt and paving the shoulders. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers,
The Brown County Construction Company, Inc. of Aberdeen, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of $590,325 to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed by October 31, 2008.
