Ringing In The New Year With Snow
ODOT Crews Ready For Next Winter Storm
Chillicothe (Monday, December 31, 2012 – 3:45 p.m.) – Ringing in the new year will likely mean ringing it in with snow, and Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 crews will be ready.
Currently, predictions call for the area to receive between one and two inches of accumulation, with scattered snow showers occurring off and on beginning this afternoon and continuing through Tuesday morning. In preparation for and response to the forecasted storm, crews throughout the eight-county district are scheduled to stay late today, and a second shift is scheduled to start at midnight.
While snowplow operators will be ready to hit the state highway system once the snow begins, motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution, especially given that tonight is New Year’s Eve. By reducing speeds and allowing additional travel time, drivers can share the road more safely with other motorists and snowplow operators.

ODOT District 9 includes Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties.
