Ross-23 Reduced To One Lane For Bridge Inspections
Chillicothe - U.S. Route 23 in Ross County will be reduced to one lane in each direction today, August 19, for bridge inspections.
Throughout the day, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 will be inspecting the Scioto River and Paint Creek bridges located just south of Chillicothe and the U.S. 23/U.S. 35 bypass.
Inspectors will first reduce U.S. 23 to one lane in the southbound direction near the 12-mile marker to inspect the Scioto River bridge located just south of the U.S. 23/U.S. 35 split. They will then move operations to the Paint Creek structure situated between the Eastern Avenue and Three Locks Road/S.R. 104 exits, reducing U.S. 23 to one lane in both the north and southbound directions.
These lane restrictions are anticipated to be in effect throughout most of the day, and motorists are reminded to exercise additional caution when traveling through the work zones.
