Ross-772 Slide Repair Nearing Completion
Route set to reopen this week!
Chillicothe (Tuesday, May 19, 2015) – Working to expedite a slide repair project on state Route 772 in Ross County, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are ahead of schedule and will reopen the route to traffic later this week.
Crews from the Alan Stone Company closed S.R. 772 near County Road 175 (Liberty Hill Road) in February in order to rebuild and stabilize an existing slope. The project has included the installation of a 564-foot drilled shaft wall, as well as culvert installation, reconstruction of the route’s westbound lane, guardrail replacement and shoulder construction.
Although the 120-day closure allowed for the route to be closed through June 9, the contractors are nearly three weeks ahead of schedule, and they are planning to reopen S.R. 772 either late afternoon Thursday or early Friday of this week once final paving and striping operations have been completed.
The Alan Stone Company of Cutler, Ohio was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $1.25 million to repair the slide.
