Routes Reopen After Early Morning Flooding
Chillicothe (Wednesday, July 21, 2010) – Two routes on the state highway system in Lawrence County are now open following their closure early this morning due to flooding; however, two other closures remain in place.
Both S.R. 93 and S.R. 775 in Lawrence County are now open to traffic; however, state Route 650 remains closed near C.R. 43 (Kelley’s Mill Road) and C.R. 27 (Little Pine Creek Road). In addition, S.R. 7 is closed to westbound traffic between S.R. 527 at Chesapeake and U.S. 52 at the 6th Street/Nick Rahall Bridge.
While these closures are in effect until further notice, motorists must follow posted detours or seek alternate routes where no detour has been posted. They are also reminded that crossing any route which has been closed is strictly prohibited, and motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution when crossing any route which remains open but where standing water may be present.
