S.R. 728 To Be Closed For Railroad Project
Chillicothe (Tuesday, June 14, 2011) – In conjunction with a railroad repair project, state Route 728 in Scioto County will be closed next week.
On Monday, June 20, the route will be closed at its junction with U.S. 23 at Lucasville for crews from Suburban Maintenance and Construction to rehabilitate the overpass for the Norfolk-Southern rail line. The route is scheduled to be closed for approximately 25 calendar days.
While the route is closed, northbound U.S. 23 motorists will be detoured from S.R. 728 by way of County Road 55 (Fairground Road). Southbound U.S. 23 and S.R. 348 traffic will be routed over Township Road 528 (Robert Lucas Road) by way of U.S. 23 in Lucasville.
The monthlong project is anticipated to be completed by mid to late July, weather permitting.
