S.R. 125, 505 Projects Postponed; S.R. 763 Slip Repair Going Forward
Chillicothe (Monday, July 20, 2015) – Due to weather-related impacts that have occurred on several routes in Brown County, culvert replacement projects on state routes 125 and 505 scheduled this week have been postponed.
Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility were scheduled to close S.R. 125 between Township Road 153 (Blackshire Road) and T.R. 515 (Liming Lake Road) today, July 20, for a two-day culvert replacement project. This project was to be followed by a three-day culvert replacement on S.R. 505, between S.R. 756 and County Road 84 (Feesburg-Poetown Road).
Both projects have been postponed as the crews continue cleanup efforts elsewhere in the county, and a schedule to undertake either project has yet to be established.
Although this work has been postponed, crews will move forward with a two-week slide repair on S.R. 763 at the 1.05-mile marker, just south of C.R. 31 (Martin Hill Road) and approximately one mile north of the route’s junction with S.R. 41 and the village of Aberdeen.
This closure is in effect today and will continue through 4 p.m. Friday, July 31, or until all work is completed. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 41, U.S. 52, U.S. 62 and S.R. 353.

U.S. 62 remains closed between C.R. 36 (Gooselick Road) and C.R. 15 (George Miller Road) south of Russellville, due to a culvert washout and pavement damage. The duration of closure is unknown at this time, and it is in effect until further notice. Motorists will be detoured via S.R. 125 at Russellville to U.S. 68 at Georgetown to U.S. 62 at Red Oak.
S.R. 125 remains closed near the 7.0-mile marker, between C.R. 18 (Eden Road) and S.R. 221 at Georgetown, due to pavement damage that was a result of severe storms. The duration of this closure is also unknown, and the closure is in effect until further notice. Motorists will be detoured via U.S. 68 and S.R. 774.
