S.R. 134 Now Open Following Culvert Replacement
Route Remains Closed North of Buford for Bridge Rehab
Chillicothe (Friday, September 19, 2014) – Following a two-week culvert replacement on state Route 134 in Highland County, the route is now open to traffic.
On Monday, September 8, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Highland County maintenance facility closed S.R. 134 just north of County Road 8 (Panhandle Road) and the village of Lynchburg to replace a deteriorated culvert.
All work was completed earlier today, with the route being reopened to traffic shortly after 2 p.m.
In a separate project, S.R. 134 remains closed immediately south of T.R. 406 (Rosselott Road) and approximately one mile north of S.R. 138 at Buford for a bridge rehabilitation.
Contractors for ODOT are replacing the deck, abutments and approach slabs of the bridge at the route’s 6.01-mile marker and situated over North Fork White Oak Creek.
Motorists continue to be detoured via S.R. 138 and S.R. 131, and all work is anticipated to be completed in late fall.
