S.R. 221 Culvert Replacement Projects On Tap
Route to be closed three days next week
Chillicothe (Wednesday, May 10, 2017) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility will undertake a series of culvert replacement projects on state Route 221 next week, requiring three, single-day closures of the route.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 16-18, S.R. 221 will be closed at the 4.30, 4.52 and the 4.64-mile markers, respectively, for crews to replace three pipes that are situated mid-way between U.S. 52 at Higginsport and S.R. 125 at Georgetown.
The closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, with the route open to evening and overnight travel. During periods of closure, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 52, S.R. 505 and S.R. 125.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
