S.R. 251 Culvert Replacement Scheduled Tomorrow
Motorists reminded to use caution in work zone
Chillicothe (Tuesday, April 12, 2016) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility will undertake a culvert replacement project on state Route 251 tomorrow, April 13, and the route will be reduced to one lane.
S.R. 251 will be reduced to one lane at the 1.42-mile marker and the intersection of County Road 48 (Anderson State Road) at St. Martin, where crews will be working to replace a deteriorated culvert from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., or until all work is completed.
Traffic will be maintained by flaggers throughout the day, and although S.R. 251 will be open, motorists are advised to expect intermittent periods of delay. In addition, this week, April 11-15, marks the National Work Zone Safety Awareness Campaign, and motorists are reminded of the need for additional safety in work zones.
Drivers can avoid crashes by staying alert and giving driving their full attention, following all posted signs and obeying flaggers, and not tailgating or speeding.
