S.R. 28 Culvert Replacement Delayed
Route to be closed through the weekend
Chillicothe (Friday, June 17, 2016) – A culvert replacement project on state Route 28 this week has been delayed, but the project is getting back on track and the route will be open to traffic Monday, June 20.
S.R. 28 was closed Monday, June 13, between County Road 35 (Miami Trace Road) and Township Road 371 (Collier Road) for crews from ODOT’s Highland County Maintenance Facility to replace a deteriorated culvert. Although the project was scheduled to be completed by the end of the week, a delay in material delivery resulted in work being pushed back a couple of days and forcing the closure to be extended through the weekend.
Operations are getting back on track today, with the county maintenance crews pouring the final slab of concrete and completing finishing work. However, S.R. 28 will remain closed to allow for the concrete to cure, and while it is closed, motorists will continue to be detoured via S.R. 138 at Greenfield and S.R. 771 at Leesburg.
