S.R. 763 Reduced To One Lane
Culvert Failure Leads To Temporary Restrictions
Chillicothe (Wednesday, September 2, 2015) – Due to a culvert failure, state Route 763 has been reduced to one lane.
Inspections by staff from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility found that a culvert and pavement have collapsed along the route’s southbound lane at the 11.0-mile marker.
S.R. 763 is now restricted between Township Road 24 (W. Fork Road) and S.R. 353, approximately one mile south of a recent bridge replacement, and one lane of traffic is being maintained with the use of temporary signals.
The single-lane restriction will be in place until such time that a project to replace the culvert and restore the route to two lanes of traffic can be outlined and undertaken.
